So I’m back after a really long time. I am not sure about how frequent my articles here would be, considering the fact that I have been investing more time into watching shows and not reading books. I think it’s mostly because I can’t multi-task when I’m reading and I have developer a bad attention span over the years by doom scrolling everyday on my phone. Regardless I have made up my mind, I’m going to write stuff more often this 2024.

Let me first think about everything that happened this year. It was definitely a year full of new experiences since

  • ⭐️ I graduated finally after 4 years of me hating my existence
  • ⭐️ Got a job
  • ⭐️ Moved to a new city because of job
  • ⭐️ Started taking up new hobbies (sudoku, crossword puzzles, dance, resistance training, vector illustrations, kalimba, traditional art, trying to cook lol)
  • ⭐️ Developed eczema due to me being overly concerned about keeping my hands clean yayy
  • ⭐️ Got diagnosed with OCD, double yayy
  • ⭐️ Discovered my love for custard apples and kdrama
  • ⭐️ Quit Reddit and Discord (maybe I will rejoin?)

Ok that maybe a glimpse of stuff that has happened so far.

Kdramas...they were probably the highlight of this year- some of my favorites that I finished are: The Glory, Flowers of Evil and Hello, my twenties. They were all of different genres but they were all amazing. Hoping to discover more interesting ones soon.

Vector illustrations were so fun to create this year. Although I was super into admiring vector art, I had always been uninterested in actually creating them myself. Mostly because there is so many tools I need to get used to and the program I’m using doesn’t have enough tutorials out there. But this year because of my job I was forced to pick it up and try to create illustrations. In the process I ended up learning how to use the program and the tools. Eventually I understand the endless possibilities of things I can make with the program just by spending a little bit of time and fiddling with things around. I plan to create a lot more in the future and maybe combine raster and vectors to create some unique stuff.

Oh and the cover art for this article is made up of vectors 100%.

Books I read this year books_read

There weren't anything super good this year but hopefully I find better ones next year.

I don’t want to write too many goals and overwhelm myself. I am going to keep it simple and decide to be more open to experiences and trying new things out.

  • Meditate everyday
  • Read 12 books
  • 2.5 liters water everyday
  • Solve crossword/sudoku/go puzzles
  • Write minimum 6 articles
  • Use planner everyday
  • Weekends reserved for hobbies (art)
  • Moisture skin in the morning everyday
  • Learn to use left hand
  • Resistance training at least twice a week

That’s about it I guess. See you in 2024!
